Jaipur: Sleeper Bus + City Palace + Hawa Mahal

SLEEPER BUS TO JAIPUR

You could take a plane, coach, drive or train to Jaipur. R & i chose to take a sleeper bus, which essentially is a coach. The journey takes roughly 6hours & the sleeper bus literally allows you to sleep throughout the ride on a small bed.

Before i booked the sleeper bus, i had in mind an image that it would just be comfortable chairs. I did not know it would be an actual small bed. I included photos below to show you how i booked my bus tickets & things to look out for!

Redbus Website: Red Bus

You choose the dates to travel to wherever you are going within India, & a list of timings & various bus timings will appear. I also check the ratings before booking. The prices varies according to the company. But i'd rather choose a higher priced with a higher rating bus company than a cheap & below average rating. Safety & comfort is very important.

Once you have selected your desire bus company & timing, you can click on view seats & the page below will pop up.

These are the bus seatings. The rectangular seats are small beds for 2 people which is the photo i have included above. The singular rectangular shaped seats which are on its own in a line are single bedding.

Things to take note of:

The rectangular beddings that are placed side by side does not mean you get a separate bed! You will wind up sleeping next to a stranger if you are travelling solo!

So choose the solo beds if you are alone. The beds are reallyyyyy small so you don't wanna end up sleeping next to a complete stranger, esp if it's the opposite sex.

Check out my photo below. You can see 2 small beds side by side? It is essentially joined as ONE bed even though on their website it shows that the beddings are separated.

City Palace

Opening Hours: 9am-5pm
Entry Fee/person: 500INR (SGD10.40)

Best to go early in the mornings to avoid the crowd.

HAWA MAHAL

Opening Hours: 9am-5pm
Entry Fee/person: 400INR (SGD8)

They do not allow the use of tripods in these areas, but it is okay for you to bring it in as long as you do not take it out to use. If you are a student, they have different pricing for you & it is so much cheaper. All you gotta do is produce your student card.

There are several bazaars around Hawa Mahal. The ones near the area sells mostly Tibetan kinda items like the clutch bags i saw in Delhi, Janpath Market. & Still, Janpath market is still the best with the cheapest price.
But buying tapestries & carpets at Jaipur is so much cheaper. Plus they have much nicer designs.
