Hong Kong: Dragon's Back

Dragon's Back is probably one of the easiest hike in Hong Kong. It takes roughly 90 minutes to complete. There were many senior citizens hiking & they are pretty fit!

I would definitely recommend this hike for all age groups. This hike honestly isn't difficult at all. The terrain isn't treacherous it's just a single route. There were a bunch of primary school students on the hike too.

Directions:

  • Take the MTR towards Shau Kei Wan station & exit from Exit A3, head towards the bus terminal.
  • Take bus 9 which is located on the right side once you exit.
  • Alight at To Tei Wan Village, Dragon's Back. There will be an LED board in the front of the bus showing the next stop. Press the bell only when you see the words "To Tei Wan Village, Dragon's Back."

Once you alight from the bus the start of the trail head is located directly beside the bus stop. You will see this signboard.

I went this way and there are nice spots to take a break & enjoy the view before walking back towards the dragon's back trail. I dont think the Picnic Site is an actual trail. It's more like a resting place.

Upon seeing this signboard, go up towards the stairs.

My mum & i hiked towards Big Wave Bay at the end of the Dragon's back hike. Big Wave Bay is a beach where people were seen surfing & there's food there too. But honestly i felt Big Wave Bay beach wasn't worth the hike lol. Nothing much.

From Big Wave Bay we took a bus back to Shau Kei Wan MTR.
